Social Media Star Bobrisky Detained by EFCC at Lagos Airport Amid Ongoing Investigation

Nigerian social media figure and crossdresser Idris Okuneye, widely known as Bobrisky, was reportedly detained again by the Economic and Financial Crimes Commission (EFCC) at Lagos's Murtala Mohammed International Airport. This detention follows Bobrisky’s recent release on bail by Nigerian police.

The arrest took place Thursday night as Bobrisky prepared to board a flight to London. According to witnesses, Nigerian officials stopped the aircraft just before takeoff, escorting Bobrisky from the plane in front of other passengers.

After the incident, Bobrisky took to Instagram to share his situation, writing, “Nigerians help me, EFCC just arrested me. I’m badly injured.” This marks the second attempt by authorities to detain the socialite, following an earlier attempt by the Nigeria Immigration Service (NIS) at the Seme border last week.

Bobrisky’s recent legal troubles reportedly stem from an audio recording in which he allegedly claimed that his six-month imprisonment could be served outside of Kirikiri prison due to high-level connections. This statement has prompted further investigation by authorities.
