Trump Declares Intent to ‘Restore America’s Glory’ as Electoral College Vote Count Favors His Victory
Republican candidate Donald Trump has declared his intent to "restore America to its former glory," anticipating a win in the presidential race. Speaking to voters in Florida on Wednesday, Trump expressed gratitude as his electoral college votes climbed to 266, outpacing Democratic candidate Kamala Harris, who holds 219 votes.
Addressing supporters, Trump stated, "This is the greatest political movement of all time. We are going to help our country heal. We are going to fix our border." He added, "Our country was devastated before. I want to thank the American people for electing me as the 45th President and now the 47th President of the US."
Trump proclaimed that his victory would usher in a "golden age" for America, emphasizing that "this victory will make America great again." He needs 270 electoral college votes to be officially declared the winner of this historic election.
Additionally, projections suggest that the Republican Party may gain control of the Senate.
