Abia Traditional Leaders Declare Zero Tolerance for Kidnapping, Emphasize Community Safety

Traditional leaders in Umuahia North Local Government Area of Abia State have vowed to take decisive action against kidnappers to ensure the safety and security of their community.

During a special prayer session on December 24, the monarchs, led by Eze Innocent Nwaigwe, declared their commitment to eradicating criminal activities in the area. The session involved traditional rituals, including breaking kola nuts and offering libations, symbolizing their collective resolve to protect the community.

The royal fathers stated that any individual engaging in kidnapping or terrorizing the people of Umuahia North would face severe consequences. They called on those involved in such activities to repent and desist immediately, as the community leadership is determined to ensure peace and safety during the Christmas and New Year celebrations.

“We have prayed for the safety of all Umuahia North natives and invoked divine intervention to protect our people,” Eze Nwaigwe said.

The monarchs also commended the current Abia State administration, under Governor Alex Otti, for its strides in maintaining security and effective governance. They offered prayers for the Governor’s continued wisdom and protection in his leadership.

Eze Innocent Nwaigwe reiterated that the leaders had sought divine guidance to deter criminal activities in their community, emphasizing the importance of repentance and lawful living. He assured residents that the local government is committed to fostering a calm and secure environment for all.
