Benue State Governor Condemns Attack on Anwase Community

Governor Hyacinth Iormem Alia of Benue State has expressed deep sadness over the recent attack on the Anwase community in Kwande Local Government Area, which claimed the lives of 11 residents.

The incident occurred on December 25, as families gathered to celebrate Christmas. The governor conveyed his condolences to the victims' families and the community affected by this tragic event.

In a statement issued by his media assistant, Tersoo Kula, Governor Alia reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to ensuring the safety and security of the state's citizens. He emphasized that those responsible for the attack would be brought to justice, stating, "This act will not go unpunished."

The governor also reiterated the importance of maintaining peace and unity within Benue State and called on security agencies to intensify their efforts in protecting communities and apprehending those behind the incident.
