Fire Destroys Araromi Spare Parts Market in Ibadan, Claims Lives in Separate Incident

A devastating fire has destroyed the popular Araromi spare parts market at Agodi-Gate in Ibadan, the capital of Oyo State. Properties worth millions of naira were damaged in the blaze, which broke out early Saturday morning at around 2:00 a.m.

As of the time of filing this report, firefighters are still battling to contain the fire. Investigations are ongoing to determine the cause of the incident.

This tragic development follows another fire just 12 hours earlier in the Ori-Eru neighborhood of Idikan, Ibadan. In that incident, a husband, his wife, and their grandchild lost their lives in a fire at a storey building.

Yemi Akinyinka, the General Manager of the Oyo State Fire Services Agency, confirmed the earlier incident in a statement released on Friday. According to Akinyinka, the agency received a distress call about the fire at approximately 3:46 p.m.

Authorities continue to investigate both incidents and are urging the public to prioritize fire safety during this period.
