IPMAN Reassures Nigerians: Adequate Fuel Supply for Yuletide Season
The Independent Petroleum Marketers Association of Nigeria (IPMAN) has assured Nigerians that there is sufficient fuel supply in the country and urged citizens to refrain from panic buying.
Mr. Ukadike Chinedu, IPMAN’s Publicity Secretary, made this announcement in Abuja on Sunday.
Chinedu lauded the Dangote Petroleum Refinery for reducing the price of Premium Motor Spirit (PMS), commonly known as gasoline, to ₦899.50 per litre. He noted that this gesture would help Nigerians lower their transportation costs during the upcoming Yuletide season.
“This is the beauty of deregulation. Prices are determined by market forces,” Chinedu explained, encouraging all IPMAN members to adjust their pumps to reflect the new price.
In November, the Dangote Refinery had initially lowered gasoline prices to ₦970 per litre. Chinedu highlighted that the continued operation of both Dangote and Federal Government refineries would foster competitive pricing in the market.
“With the Dangote and Federal Government refineries in operation, this will bring about competitive pricing,” he added.
