Authorities Investigate South Korea Plane Crash

As part of their investigation into the recent Boeing 737-800 tragedy, South Korean authorities conducted raids on the offices of Jeju Air and the operator of Muan International Airport on Thursday.

The aircraft, carrying passengers from Thailand to South Korea, issued a mayday call before attempting an emergency landing on Sunday. The incident resulted in significant casualties, with only two survivors.

Search and seizure operations were carried out at Muan Airport, where the accident occurred, and at Jeju Air’s office in Seoul. According to officials, both black boxes have been recovered, and decoding efforts are underway to determine the cause of the crash.

A statement from law enforcement confirmed that investigations began at 9 a.m. on January 2 at three key locations. "The police plan to swiftly and rigorously determine the cause and responsibility for this accident in accordance with the law and principles," the statement read.

U.S. and South Korean aviation experts, including Boeing representatives, are collaborating to analyze the site and gather evidence as part of the ongoing investigation.
