Bandit Leader Bello Turji Issues Threats Amid Military Pressure

Bello Turji, a notorious bandit leader and terrorist, has been spotted with his militant gang in northwestern Nigeria. This information was disclosed by Zagazola Makama, a counterterrorism and insurgency specialist in the Lake Chad Basin, via a post on his verified X account on Friday.

Makama reported that Turji and his gang were sighted in the rocky areas of Fakai and Manawa, raising concerns about their continued presence in the region.

Following the arrest of his uncles by Nigerian troops, Turji reportedly issued threats, vowing to carry out violent attacks if his relatives were not released. This development has drawn a sharp response from the Nigerian Defence Headquarters (DHQ), which dismissed Turji’s threats and referred to him as "a dead man walking."

The DHQ reiterated its commitment to neutralizing security threats in Zamfara State and beyond, emphasizing that any attempts to destabilize the region would be met with decisive action.
