Ganduje and Yusuf Exchange Views on Kano’s Political Future

The political landscape in Kano State continues to heat up as Abdullahi Umar Ganduje, the National Chairman of the All Progressives Congress (APC), declared that the party would emerge victorious in the 2027 elections. Ganduje made the statement during the 8th and 9th APC Kano State House of Assembly Forum Dinner, held to honor notable party members.

Speaking through the APC State Chairman, Abdullahi Abbas, Ganduje criticized claims by Rabiu Musa Kwankwaso that he had the unwavering support of the Kano people. “I can swear to God, if not for our internal issues, he (Kwankwaso) wouldn’t have won any election in Kano. This time around, he will see the reality. Those who supported him before are disappointed and full of regret. Kwankwasiyya is done, and even the governor is unaware of everything happening around him,” Ganduje said.

In response, Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf issued a stern warning, emphasizing his commitment to the safety and well-being of Kano residents. “Let me be clear, whoever threatens the good people of Kano will face the consequences. We are ready, and I will not hesitate to take decisive action against them,” Yusuf stated.

The governor also addressed discussions about the 2027 elections, urging a focus on governance rather than future political contests. “As for those talking about taking over power in 2027, let me remind you, power belongs to God. It is He who grants leadership, and we pray that He gives it only to those who have the best interests of the good people of Kano at heart,” he added.

Governor Yusuf reassured citizens of his dedication to delivering on campaign promises. “Our focus is not on 2027. Our priority is to fulfill the mandate entrusted to us by the people of Kano. Our mission is to continue delivering the dividends of democracy and serving our people diligently,” he said.

Concluding, he expressed his faith and determination: “We believe in God, and we know that no matter how many people conspire against us, they cannot succeed if God wills otherwise. May God grant us the strength and ability to achieve this and to witness 2027 in good health and prosperity.”
