Governor Fintiri Approves Appointment of Emirs and Chiefs for New Adamawa Emirates and Chiefdoms
Governor Ahmadu Fintiri of Adamawa State has approved the selection of two emirs and five chiefs for the newly created emirates and chiefdoms in the state.
The newly appointed emirs are Alhaji Sani Ahmadu Ribadu as the Emir of Fufore and Alhaji Ahmadu Saibaru as the Emir of Maiha.
The selected chiefs include:
- John Dio, Gubo Yungur (Yungur Chiefdom)
- Aggrey Ali, Kumu of Gombi (Gombi Chiefdom)
- Dr. Ali Danburam, Ptil Madagali (Madagali Chiefdom)
- Professor Bulus Luka Gadiga, Mbege Ka Michika (Michika Chiefdom)
- Alheri Nyako, Tol Huba (Hong Chiefdom)
Mr. Humwashi Wonosikou, the Chief Press Secretary to the Governor, announced the development on Friday morning. According to Wonosikou, Governor Fintiri congratulated the new traditional leaders on their appointments and highlighted that the selections were based on the leaders’ popularity among the people and their qualifications.
“The governor has urged the new chiefs and emirs to perform their duties with fairness and responsibility,” Wonosikou stated, adding that the appointments are effective immediately.
Governor Fintiri had previously announced the creation of the new emirates and chiefdoms on December 23, 2024. The emirates and chiefdoms include Huba (Hong), Madagali, Michika, and Fufore, which have been granted second-class status, while the remaining three have third-class status.
