Kebbi State Plans New Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Kawara Village

The Kebbi State government has announced plans to establish a modern Government Reservation Area (GRA) in Kawara village, located on the southeastern outskirts of Birnin Kebbi, the state capital.

Governor Nasir Idris recently visited the proposed site, accompanied by the Secretary to the State Government and senior officials from the Ministry of Lands and Housing.

During the visit, TPL Abubakar Ahmed, the Ministry’s Permanent Secretary, presented the proposed GRA’s layout. He explained that the project aims to expand Birnin Kebbi’s boundaries, increase housing availability, and generate additional revenue for the government.

Governor Idris described the initiative as a transformative project that would serve future generations. He commended the Ministry of Lands and Housing for its innovative approach.

“This project will not only enhance the quality of life for our citizens but also boost the state’s Internally Generated Revenue (IGR),” the governor noted.

Construction is expected to commence after the state government finalizes and approves the project’s contract award.
