Kwara Police Officers Encouraged to Enhance Professionalism Post-Promotion
The Kwara State Police Commissioner, Victor Olaiya, has urged 96 newly promoted officers to enhance professionalism in crime-fighting and strengthen community relations in line with global best practices.
The decoration ceremony, held at the command headquarters in Ilorin, celebrated the elevation of senior officers, including Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi, the command’s spokesperson, who was promoted to Superintendent of Police (SP).
According to Commissioner Olaiya, the promotions reflect the officers’ dedication and hard work, calling for increased accountability and a greater commitment to public safety in Kwara State.
Among the notable promotions were Mukaila Yusuf, now Assistant Commissioner of Police (ACP), and fourteen others elevated to Chief Superintendent of Police (CSP), including Olufemi Abraham of the Anti-Kidnapping Unit and Babatunde Lateef, the Divisional Police Officer (DPO) of Afon Division.
Four officers, including Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi and Ahmed Bata Mohammed, were promoted to Superintendent of Police (SP), while 77 others were elevated to Deputy Superintendent of Police (DSP).
Commissioner Olaiya expressed gratitude to Hashimu Salihu Argungu, Chairman of the Police Service Commission, and Kayode Adeolu Egbetokun, Inspector General of Police, for prioritizing officer welfare.
In a statement, SP Adetoun Ejire-Adeyemi reaffirmed the command’s dedication to protecting lives and property, calling for continued public cooperation in combating crime.
