Tragic Fire Claims Lives of Sokoto State Government Official's Family Members

A tragic fire early Monday morning claimed the lives of Alhaji Muhammadu Bello Sifawa’s daughter and three grandchildren. Sifawa serves as the Secretary to the Government of Sokoto State.

The incident occurred while the children were asleep, trapping the deceased and her children in the fire. She was married to Alhaji Muhammadu Yusuf Bello, the Permanent Secretary of the State Ministry of Sports and Youth Development.

Heartbreakingly, her husband was the only survivor of the tragedy.

The Sokoto State Fire Service spent hours putting out the fire, but the reason is still being investigated.

Later today, the victims' bodies would be laid to rest at the Sheikh Shehu Usmanu Danfodiyo Mosque Sifawa.

The tragedy has sparked a wave of sorrow, with many friends and well-wishers travelling to Sifawa to give their support and condolences to the dead family, including State Executive Council members, APC officials, and Deputy Governor Eng. Idris Mohammed Gobir.
