UAE President Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan to Visit Nigeria in 2025
President Bola Tinubu has invited Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, the President of the United Arab Emirates, to visit Nigeria. According to a statement released on Thursday by the president's media assistant, Bayo Onanuga, the UAE leader has accepted the invitation and will visit Nigeria later this year.
The invitation was extended during bilateral discussions held on the sidelines of Abu Dhabi Sustainability Week 2025, where the two leaders explored avenues for strengthening ties between their nations.
President Tinubu, who arrived in Abu Dhabi as a guest of the UAE President, participated in Sustainability Week, a global platform aimed at fostering collaboration to address global challenges and promote sustainable development.
During their meeting, Tinubu expressed appreciation for the UAE's successful hosting of the event and shared Nigeria's stance on critical issues, including climate change.
Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan reaffirmed the UAE's commitment to deepening economic ties with Nigeria, highlighting opportunities for collaboration and investment.
“The two leaders also explored attracting investment into Nigeria,” Onanuga disclosed.
“President Tinubu said his government’s economic reforms are yielding results, encouraging foreign investors to announce significant investments. He called on the UAE to partner with Nigeria to further develop the economy.”
The Nigerian president highlighted the stabilization and growth of the country’s economy as a result of recent reforms, noting that these changes have bolstered investor confidence, particularly in sectors such as oil and gas.
President Tinubu also expressed gratitude for the warm hospitality extended to him and his delegation during their visit.
