Zamfara State Approves 13th-Month Salary for Workers

Governor Dauda Lawal of Zamfara State has approved the payment of a 13th-month salary for civil and public servants in the state.

The announcement was made through a circular issued by the Zamfara State Head of Service on December 28, 2024, and further confirmed in a statement by Suleiman Bala Idris, the governor's spokesperson.

According to the statement, this is the second time in the state’s history that such a payment is being made, with the first occurring during Governor Lawal's administration in December of the previous year. Eligible workers, including retirees, will receive a bonus equivalent to 30 percent of their basic salary.

The initiative is part of broader efforts by the Zamfara State government to support its workforce and enhance economic development. Other measures include the settlement of gratuities accumulated over 11 years, the approval of a minimum wage of N70,000, and the timely payment of workers’ salaries.
