Bomb Attack at Pakistani Islamic School Kills Six Worshippers
A bomb explosion during Friday prayers at an Islamic school in northwest Pakistan, known as a major Afghan Taliban training camp, has killed six worshippers and injured several others.
Among the wounded is Maulana Hamid-ul-Haq, the head of the religious school and son of the late Maulana Sami-ul-Haq, often referred to as the “father of the Taliban.” According to regional police officer Najeebur Rahman, Haq’s condition remains critical.
So far, no group has claimed responsibility for the attack. Pakistan is currently battling two insurgencies:
- One led by Islamist militants
- Another driven by ethnic separatists, who accuse the government of unfairly distributing natural resources
Authorities have launched an investigation to determine the perpetrators behind the deadly bombing.
