Federal University of Education, Numan Bill Still on Track – Senator Binos

Senator Binos Yaroe, representing Adamawa South Zone in the National Assembly, has assured the public that the bill to establish the Federal University of Education, Numan, remains on course despite rumors of rejection by President Bola Tinubu.

Speaking at a stakeholders’ feedback conference in Mayo-Belwa, Senator Yaroe clarified that the President had not rejected the bill but had instead requested some corrections before granting approval.

“The issues will be promptly addressed, and the bill resubmitted once the Senate reconvenes,” he assured.

One of the main corrections involves the designation of land authority for the university. Initially, the bill mistakenly assigned this power to the state governor instead of the President, who is the rightful visitor to the institution.

“We mistakenly assigned the power to grant land authority to the governor instead of the president. We will rectify this error by replacing the governor with the president in the bill,” Yaroe explained.

Once the necessary corrections are made and the bill is resubmitted for approval, the Federal University of Education, Numan will be officially established, further boosting educational development in Adamawa State.
