Governor Yusuf Appoints Umar Farouk Ibrahim as Kano’s New SSG
Kano State Governor Abba Kabir Yusuf has appointed Umar Farouk Ibrahim as the new Secretary to the State Government (SSG).
The announcement was made on Saturday in a statement by Sunusi Bature Dawakin Tofa, Director General of Media and Publicity at Government House, Kano.According to the statement, Ibrahim’s appointment will take effect on Monday, February 10, 2025.
Governor Yusuf selected Ibrahim due to his extensive experience in public administration and governance, which is expected to contribute significantly to the state’s development agenda.
With over 30 years of service in the civil sector, Ibrahim has held key leadership roles that have shaped Kano State’s governance.
From 2001 to 2015, he served as the Permanent Secretary for Research, Evaluation, and Political Affairs in the Office of the SSG, playing a crucial role in policy formulation and execution.
His leadership was further demonstrated between 2015 and 2016, when he was appointed Permanent Secretary for Administration and General Services.
Governor Yusuf emphasized the importance of experienced administrators in achieving Kano’s long-term goals.
“We are confident that Ibrahim’s leadership will drive the successful implementation of our state’s development initiatives,” he stated.
