Nathaniel Bassey: Not Joining Hallelujah Challenge Doesn’t Make You Less of a Christian
Popular gospel artist Pastor Nathaniel Bassey has clarified that not participating in his Hallelujah Challenge does not define a person’s Christian identity.
His statement comes amid discussions on social media platform X (formerly Twitter), where some users suggested that a potential life partner should at least know gospel musicians like him.
Bassey urged his followers to avoid judging others based on their participation in his online worship sessions and cautioned against turning passion into obsession.
“My dear brothers and sisters, just a note of caution. Please let us be careful and guided so we do not turn our passion into an unholy obsession. Not knowing Nathaniel Bassey or any of the young, vibrant servants of God doesn’t make you any less a Christian.
In fact, there are many Christians who have never heard of me or my music. They don’t have to know me. I’m not the best thing after sliced bread.”
He further emphasized that joining the Hallelujah Challenge is a personal choice and does not determine one’s faith.
“Not joining the Hallelujah Challenge doesn’t make you less of a Christian. People are free to connect with what’s best for them. I’m sharing this following the various tags I have been mentioned in, and I felt a need to enlighten a few of us.”
