North Korea Condemns Donald Trump’s Gaza Occupation Proposal
North Korea has criticized former US President Donald Trump over his suggested plan to occupy Gaza and relocate its citizens, calling it a “bomb declaration” that has angered the global community.
According to KCNA, a North Korean state-controlled media outlet, the proposal reflects US hegemonic ambitions and demonstrates aggressive foreign policy. In an editorial published on Wednesday, KCNA stated:
“The US should awaken from its anachronistic daydream and stop encroaching on the dignity and sovereignty of other nations.”
The outlet further claimed that Trump's comments align with his previous statements about making Canada the 51st US state and annexing Greenland.
“Sovereignty, the right to self-determination, and territorial integrity should never be treated as a bargaining chip,” the editorial read.
Trump has continued to emphasize his remarks regarding a US-led takeover of Gaza, which he first mentioned last week.
Meanwhile, the United Nations has reaffirmed its stance that any forced displacement of a population amounts to ethnic cleansing, raising concerns over the legal and humanitarian implications of such proposals.
While North Korea’s response has drawn international attention, it is important to note that Trump has not officially presented a policy for Gaza’s occupation or citizen relocation. His remarks remain controversial and open to interpretation.
