NSA Condemns Visa Denial for Nigerian Military Officials by Canadian Embassy
The National Security Advisor (NSA), Nuhu Ribadu, has criticized the Canadian embassy for denying visas to Chief of Defence Staff (CDS), Christopher Musa, and other senior military officials.
The officials were scheduled to attend an event in Canada honoring veterans and wounded soldiers but were unable to travel due to the visa denial.
Speaking at the National Association of the Institute for Security Studies (AANISS) annual lecture in Abuja, CDS Musa described the situation as disappointing, emphasizing that Nigeria must “stand on its own and no longer be taken for granted.”
In response, NSA Ribadu acknowledged the frustration over the visa refusal but stressed that the incident reinforces the need to continue working toward national self-sufficiency and global respect.
“This is another reason we must work hard to make Nigeria stronger,” he said.
