Kaduna Pensioners Demand Unpaid Entitlements, Issue 14-Day Ultimatum

Retirees under Kaduna State’s Contributory Pension Scheme (CPS) have given Governor Uba Sani a 14-day ultimatum to settle their outstanding entitlements, warning of mass protests if their demands are not met.

During a peaceful demonstration at Sir Kashim Ibrahim House on Tuesday, the pensioners expressed frustration over severe financial hardships, including homelessness, malnutrition, and lack of medical care.

Professor Nate Danjuma, chairman of the group, voiced concerns over the deteriorating conditions faced by many retirees.

“Some of our members are dying of hunger, while others are developing mental illnesses due to the lack of medical care. Many have no homes, and families are falling apart,” Danjuma stated.

Addressing the protesters, Commissioner of Police CP Muhammad Rabiu commended them for maintaining peace and assured them that the governor would address their concerns.
