Kano Government Forms Committee to Address #EndBadGovernance Protest Fallout
The Kano State Government has set up a six-member committee to implement the recommendations from an inquiry into the disruption of peace during the #EndBadGovernance protests.
Governor Abba Yusuf, alongside Secretary to the State Government Umar Ibrahim, officially launched the committee on Tuesday, emphasizing the need to prevent a repeat of the crisis that resulted in loss of lives and destruction of property worth billions of naira.
The committee, led by Alhaji Dan Yahaya, Permanent Secretary of the Ministry of Internal Security and Special Services, has been tasked with reviewing the inquiry report and making further recommendations. Other members include Alhaji Aliyu Garo, Dr. Hadi Bala, Salisu Marmara, Malam Yahaya Umar, and Jamilu Usman.
Governor Yusuf reaffirmed his administration’s commitment to restoring stability, revitalizing the economy, and mitigating the crisis’s impact.
Speaking on behalf of the committee, Yahaya expressed gratitude for the opportunity and assured the government of their dedication to fulfilling their mandate.
