U.S. Embassy Issues Security Alert Over IMN Protests in Abuja and Major Cities
The U.S. Embassy in Nigeria has issued a security notice regarding planned demonstrations by the Islamic Movement of Nigeria (IMN) on Friday, March 28, 2025, in Abuja and other major cities.
The alert, released on Friday, warns of potential disruptions, including heavy traffic, roadblocks, checkpoints, and possible confrontations.
According to the security notice, demonstrations may take place at the following locations:

- Keep phones charged and carry proper identification
Additionally, the Consular Sections of the U.S. Embassy in Abuja and the Consulate General in Lagos will remain operational, and further updates will be available on the U.S. Embassy's website.
